Set a grade for Planet X, full speed forrader. No, Planet X is not the newest sci-fi moving picture; it is actually a progressive rock/fusion band headed by keyboardist Derek Sherinian (Kiss, Alice Cooper, Dream Theater, Platypus). Depending on how you bet at it, Planet X had its origins in Sherinian?s 1999 solo record album by that title. Certainly, the seed of the call was thither, but the musically stylus seemed to be also. The lineup of the radical was non, nonetheless set at that point. Drummer Virgil Donati was in stead, though. According to Sherinian his goal with forming the group was to lease a band that ?played their instruments so ferociously, it would hit dread in the hearts of early musicians when they played?. So, with that seeming declaration of musical warfare, he recruited Tony MacAlpine to complete the lineup. Under the Planet X soubriquet, the trio (attended by Tom Kennedy on fresh water bass) released their first album, Universe, in 2000. The band played a serious telephone set number of gigs throughout the year 2001, resulting in a live tone ending ?Live From Oz? that surfaced early in 2002. That album had Dave Larue (Steve Morse, Dixie Dregs) guesting in the subroutine of bassist. The group has a newfangled album due in 2002, entitled Moon Babies. The record features both Tom Kennedy and Billy Sheehan handling bass duties on several tracks. Share and save this post: del.icio.us Digg Furl Reddit Help |
