The Jackson 5 [ ] received an Icon award Thursday night (9/3) at the 8th Annual BMI Urban Awards, held at the Wilshire Theatre in Los Angeles.

The entire Jackson family–minus Michael and Jermaine–were on hand as sister Janet presented the prestigious music-industry award to her brothers Tito, Randy, Jackie and Marlon.

With parents Katherine and Joseph and sisters LaToya and Rebbie in the audience, Janet said she was proud to salute her siblings for their accomplishments in the music industry. At one point, she reportedly became overcome with emotion and had to pause to regain her composure.

Before the show, Marlon told the Associated Press he didn’t know why his reclusive superstar brother didn’t appear to accept the award. “I think he’s in Egypt riding a camel or something,” he said.

After the show, Randy offered the family’s support for Michael, saying his new album is “going to be great.”
